This superb Alfa International stainless steel bowl guard (model Hbg-80) will retrofit a Classic Hobart 80-quart commercial mixer (the L800) with a bowl guard or safety cage. The reasons mixer owners install such cages are many and varied: the main reason is probably because they have to; in many places installation of a bowl guard is legally mandated; also, it's the ethical thing to do in order to protect one's employees from the churning motor of a powerful commercial mixer. This bowl guard cage is made of high quality, heavy gauge stainless steel (latches, pins, fasteners, handles & hinges are also stainless steel. The cage door opens easily; opening of this cage cuts the mixer's power immediately. The included electric wiring harness is "hook-up ready" with its power cutoff microswitch. This heavy duty, extra-durable bowl guard kit will be installed on a Hobart mixer that probably was not originally designed to have such a safety guard; therefore, it needs to be installed by a qualified service technician (that tech worker will need to drill some holes to fit the cage.
